Licentiate in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from the Technical Institute at Kozhikode, Kalamassery, Thrissur or another equivalent course OR 3. Upper or Lower Subordinate Diploma of College of Engineering, Guindy OR 4. Group Certificate (KGTE or MGTE) Note: - Group Certificate will include all four groups viz. a.Building Drawing b.Building Construction c.Survey d.Irrigation Alternatively a pass in eight subjects viz., a. Surveying and Levelling (Higher) b. Applied Mechanics (Higher) c. Building Materials and Construction (Higher) d. Building, Drawing, and Estimating (Higher) e. Earth Work and Road Making (Higher) f. Hydraulics and Irrigation(Higher) g. Geometrical Drawing (Lower) h. Mensuration (Lower) OR 5. Craftsman Certificate from Industrial Training Centre as Draftsman (Civil) or Draftsman (Mechanical) or Survey Trade Test with five years of service under the Board. Sub Engineer (Civil) : Rs.41,600 – Rs.82,400 (Per Month).

The Age limit is 18-37, Candidates born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2004 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for Kerala Sub Engineer (Civil).SC/ST and OBC candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.
